18

Today is Amanda's 18th Birthday
Josh and I took her to Portland for the day, down near 23rd. We walking around looking at the shops, to find her a cute pair of shoes for a new dress. (We didn't want to scare her yet with some male strippers, and we all know josh would have stolen them anyways. :] )
We found a little boutique and had amanda tried on a ton of stuff, but we ended up with some funky 70's booty shorts. Oh, we had some great mexican food, and then went to Voodoo doughnuts for dessert. I can barely move, I'm so stuffed. ... It was a good day.

I had a conversation the other day with someone about turning 18. We were baffled that when you turn 18, you can joining the Army and kill someone, but you can't drink. (Not that I'm condoning either one)

My Fabulous Brother, Josh!!

This pic is a little old, but still great.  That night we were sitting outside one of my favorite restaurants, the Montage.  Make sure you save some food for leftovers, you'll see. Good times!

Things that freak me out

Now that I'm not technically a "kid", more childhood things give me the creeps that never bothered me before. Here are a few in no particular order.

Unicorns - I don't know if it's because their part horse, or the weird "Dungeon and Dragon" stereotypes that go along them. ....I might have a picture of one, if it was painted on the side of an 80's van with a wizard!! Dolphin art. (Not dolphins themselves, just the art.) yes, I'm an Art snob.

Clowns - "It's all fun and games until the evil clown upraising occurs". ... mark my words.

And the last one for now. Porcelain dolls - I don't know if it's because their eyes roll into the back of their heads, or they look a little too human.

Confession of simple "guilty pleasures"

Lately, I've noticed that my "self monolog" has been very active about, "what makes me truly happy". Even more so then my random "Scrub's" self.

So I thought I'd write down some of my "guilty pleasures".

Here is the first list, ... please feel free to help me remember any others

- Drinking from the Chocolate milk carton. (Don't worry I never do that to the plain milk, ... and it usually doesn't last long enough for someone else to have any) The stuff from Whole Foods is amazing!!!!

- Walking on the beach with the dog.

- Finding / sharing new music. (free music!!!)

- Watching the dog run around crazy and then trip on his ears. (I know thats sounds so mean, but if you only knew how often it happens and how happy he is.)

- Sunday afternoon naps.

- A mouth full of chocolate syrup + and a spoon full of peanut butter / shaken, ... not stirred.

- Hot underwear, right out of the dryer during the winter.

- "Art Geeking" with Adam.

- "Rough housing" with small kids. (I finally get to act my age!)

- 80's movies and music. .. like Tron and Goonies

- Taking pictures of gnomes. ( ... mainly to see people open their minds, and laugh!!!)

- Movies, we shall call "Dramas," not "Chick Flicks," to save what very small amount of manhood I have left. (Not that I had any, oh well)

- Making a huge mess while creating an art project, and then making something cool out of the mess.

- Pretending that I'm Middle class, white Gangsta'

- Finding weird Youtube videos

- Speaking with a British accent and watching British Comedy

- Cheese ...Gromit... Cheese!!!!

I took Buddha for a long walk today and snapped a few pictures along the way. I'm always amazed how he can barely walk towards the end, but he finds the strength to still "try" and pee on everything.  He's crazy, but I love him. Well, I'm off to find a movie and somewhere to eat. (I'm thinking Thai)

...I just stumbled upon these wild flowers. good luck eh! i'll go back with a real camera next time.

Tie of the Week

Here is the one Kellie picked out
From Geoffrey Beene.
It always reminds me of "Andes Mints"

My Crazy Sister

I was flipping through some of the old posts and realized I don't have many pictures of the Fam posted. So here is the last one that I took with Amanda, aka ..."Gidget." (She made me pose like that, ... she's a bad influence)
I'll have to find some good ones of Josh and Katie soon.

Tie of the Week

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, things have been crazy. Well, I wanted to introduce you to the newest member of the "Windsor" family.  She is a lovely Blue tie, with Beige floral vines by Material London.

I wanted to thank Kellie from the Bookstore, for her suggestion of next weeks tie.  Tune in to see what she picked. (It's a good one)
